Knocking Note D

What is heard here on the tape is a snippet from the first workshop Luciane and I had for Maly velky Svet. I had asked her to play whatever she had been working on that day for me and to tell me what had inspired her lately. She showed me a piece by a friend of hers that she was premiering shortly afterwards. It involved a lot of mallet and voice work. Luciane has such a generous way of showing what she is doing: instead of merely playing me the piece, she improvised using its elements, creating an inspiring tapestry to begin working with.
